PreS-Gr 1--Harry, a young boy clad in a skeleton costume, takes readers on a short tour through his house as "something very spooky is happening." Robertson (Harry and the Hot Lava) mixes bold colors with Harry's high contrast black-and-white skeleton costume for engaging illustrations that feature classic Halloween symbols such as spiderwebs, cauldrons, candy bowls, and witches. The inclusion of colorful and unique fonts adds to the visual appeal. "I've got goosebumps on my goosebumps!" black-and-blue-haired Harry exclaims; young readers may get their own goosebumps when Harry heads down to the dark basement to discover what is making all the noises in his house. There's nothing scary about his costumed parents and cat he finds as the cause for all the noise and spooks, but kids will enjoy the anticipation. VERDICT A short and sweet treat for the youngest of Halloween fans.--Carrie Voliva
