School Library Journal

PreS-Gr 1--Penguin finds another penguin to love when he comes upon a purple and green knitted mitten in the snow and searches for its owner. In her third "Penguin" picture book, Yoon's characteristic, digitally created artwork employs a simple, colorful design with figures outlined in thick black lines, making them clearly visible during storytimes. Yarn swirls around the pages and endpapers, creating hearts and spelling Penguin's friend Bootsy's name when a blizzard temporarily separates the pair. The spread picturing the storm will mesmerize readers as they gaze at the minuscule dots of snow. Purchase where the previous books have a following.--Blair Christolon, Prince William Public Library System, Manassas, VA

Publishers Weekly

In this companion to Penguin and Pinecone and Penguin on Vacation, Penguin spies a lonely mitten that someone dropped on the ground while he's out "looking for love" in the ice and snow. Abandoning his first mission, he decides to track down the owner of the mitten. He discovers a knack for knitting cold-weather accessories for his chilly animal friends in the process, which leads to finding his "perfect match" (penguin Bootsy, who is also an avid knitter). Yoon's thickly outlined illustrations of chubby animals pair comfortably with the simple text, which builds to a cozy and comical conclusion to Penguin's search for a companion. Ages 3-6.
