Description

When a new friend feels unwell during a sleepover, Emma uses her problem-solving skills and American Sign Language to help everyone feel included and cared for.

Maria is a new girl at school, and best friends Emma and Izzie invite her to a sleepover. But during the movie, Maria doesn't feel good. Emma knows just what to do to make Maria feel better in this early chapter book!

Emma is Deaf and wears a cochlear implant (CI) and uses American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate. An ASL alphabet chart and a Learn to Sign section emphasize elements of Emma's daily life, as do the selection of words that are fingerspelled throughout the text in this early chapter book.
