PreS-Gr 2--In this board book follow-up to My Mother/Mi Madre, the team behind "World of ¡Vamos!" follows Coco Rocho (a cockroach) and his father as the son enumerates the fun adventures they go on together, including attending the library, taking boat rides, and learning to tie his shoes. Most of the narrative is directed at readers, but the final spread is directed at his father, as the little cockroach declares that he hopes they can always play together. The bilingual text features English on top and Spanish below it. The illustrations present Coco Rocho as he transitions from a baby carrier to a young child on a swing and bicycle. The bright palette of the previous "Vamos" books is present here, and readers will have much to pore over as the intricate background and settings are reflective of Mexican American culture. The sense of pride, awe, and love that is so present in a loving father-child relationship will resonate with kids. VERDICT There can never be enough volumes in this series.
