ESSER Funds in Your School
The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER Fund) provided more than $122 billion to schools across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico to give schools and school districts added flexibility in recovering from the pandemic. These funds are designed to address a wide range of school needs including, but not limited to, combating the learning loss that occurred across all grade levels.
What can I use ESSER funds for?
According to guidance from the US Department of Education, ESSER funds can be used by schools and school districts to:
- Addresses the unique needs of low-income children, English learners, racial and ethnic minorities, and others;
- Purchase technologies for educational interactions between students and their classroom instructors;
- Provide resources to plan and implement summer learning and afterschool programs;
- Addresses students’ learning loss;
- Provide mental health services and supports.

How we can help
In order to receive ESSER funding, schools and districts must submit a proposal for using the funds to their local school board.
