Your favorite princess has met her match!

School Library Journal

PreS-Gr 1—In this installment, the everyday princess and her new best pal explore friendship during a daylong playdate packed with activity. Readers follow the girls as they build a fort, visit the zoo, make music, fight, and apologize. At the end of the day they create matching bracelets "with a double pink heart./And then we can wear them/ when we're apart." Two bracelets come with the book. Soft watercolor cartoon illustrations complement the rhyming text, with the background actions of the pets and younger brother adding warmth and humor to the scenes. The book will appeal to aspiring princesses while giving adult readers a break from more traditional stories.—Suzanne Myers Harold, Multnomah County Library System, Portland, OR

Review quotes

After a four-year hiatus, Coyle and the Gordons are back with another Do Princesses...? title that will have readers laughing as the little girls go through Mommy's clothing drawers for dress-up items, strew crumbs all over the living room floor, and have a pot-and-pan jam in the backyard. The illustrations (e.g., a bewigged pup gazing in a mirror, little brother trying to escape his stroller as he rides by caged monkeys at the zoo), drawn by Mike and colored by his son, Carl, are absolutely hysterical and beg for a second look.--School Library Journal
Carmela Lavigna Coyle
Carmela LaVigna Coyle lives out west in Colorado with her husband, Mike, their two college-age children, and her lovable, cuddly, precocious pup that gangly answers to the name of Lulu. She is the author of the Do Princesses... series of children's books. Mike Gordon was brought up in the big city of Manchester, and although he spent time camping in the cold, wet climate of northern England, he soon learned the comfort of five-star hotels. He now resides in dry Santa Barbara, where he spends his days drawing the great outdoors but feels more at home in the malls close to home.
